Astute Observations

Asute Observation #1:
Toilet seat covers in the bathroom are a rare find in NYC. I'm not sure if this because in NY we are all one big happy family and sharing wet toilet seats is part of the joy in living here, or bed bugs have moved on to a new breeding ground.

Based on my literary review (I Googled it), you really can't contract a disease through your butt cheek, unless there is an exposed wound on said cheek. There was more scientific jargon but that's the gist of it, you're welcome.

Asute Observation #2:
Tossing trash here is so easy, there is just one kind of trashcan. I miss this 3-bin system and persistent debates of what is compostable vs. recyclable. Where are the forks made of corn?!? Why are people still using styrofoam?!? Gasp, what are plastic bags doing here?!?

Astute Observation #3:
The same environmental crusaders are present in NY, in other words the old Asian woman here also dig through the trash and collect cans. Is this some sort of underground society that I'm not privy to? I wish my grandmothers were still around so that I could ask them.

Astute Observation #4:
When it rains in NY, everyone must wear rain boots. There is no other option. The majority has spoken. Don't try and break away like me and wear flats, you'll feel like a tourist with really wet feet.

i'm convinced those asian women digging thru the trash actually go back at night to nice homes, probably live with their sons.. and decide to spend the day making some extra change.

3-bin system is a rare sight in SoCal, we're still on the 2-bin system. Although, I have seen them at random Costco locations.

And styrofoam...again another NorCal thing. Keep up the good fight NorCal! I'm sure the rest of the country will soon follow. We're finally moving away from plastic bags (only took a few years).
