I love to window shop. Just walking around and looking at stuff (especially Williams Sonoma) while sucking down an iced tea is my idea of a great time. But there are some things I’m okay with never having to pick/choose/decide, for the mere thought of these items makes my head spin and just eventually not care:
carsdigital cameras
televisions (ironic I know, but that’s why I still have my $40 one from college)
pants
make-up
And finally, computers
While I’ve been able to get by on the same computer since freshmen year of college, lately it has become a real problem. I can deal with the 15 minutes it takes to start-up, the inability to load complex web pages, the 2x CD player, etc. BUT this whole daylight savings thing is really starting to bug. My Windows 97 just can’t keep up, and now I’m having difficulty knowing what time it actually is.
Normally the one-hour is no biggie, but the Britney album drops tomorrow and I’d like to have some sort of accurate countdown. Sure I could check another clock, but for convenience purposes it would make sense to have it on my desktop. (Because when it does strike midnight, I’m going to do my best “Britney dancing like a sloth on the VMAs” impression.) I would manually change the time on Windows but then I’d have to change it back when daylight savings actually took effect. Who has time to do that? Not me.
I blame this whole problem on global warming, that seems to be new “hip” scapegoat.
