Holiday Party!

Best part of the holiday season? The company holiday party of course! In case it's your first time, here is a quick rundown from the most hardcore partier of them all, my mom:

*note ruffle = raffle

Dear little hero,

I am very proud that you are going to the party. I know it is a little hard for you. But there is really nothing to be afraid of. It is a joyful occasion and for you it's a new experience to explore.

Some tips for you:
I remembered that the guys all had ties and some sort of jackets.
You are young man, semi-formal with dress shoes are fine. Please remember HAIR CUT AND SHAVE

Usually there is a table outside the dinning room. You report there first to get your ruffle ticket, drink ticket, parking voucher or some other goodies.

Then you join the cocktail time. The cocktail place is right outside the dinning room. People drink, walk around and chat with others. Appetizer will be served during the cocktail time. That's my favorite! You can go to the bar with your drink ticket for soft drinks (no alcohol of course). Don't worry, other people will come to talk to you. Last year we had a photographer at the cocktail area for free photos. I had several pictures and they all turned out nice. After certain time for cocktail, you will see people starting to walk towards the dinning room. That means it's time for dinner. You just follow them.

Dinner seat is not assigned (in the past). You may feel more comfortable sitting with friends in your department (I would if I were you), or you find a comfortable spot on any other table. Last year we had a served dinner, not buffet.

After dinner, the program starts. This year the company president and his wife will attend the party. Everyone got a different ruffle gift last year. I heard this year is different. I hope it's a nice suprise.

You don't have to stay till the very end of the party. Usually baba and I stayed at least until the ruffle gift is done. Normally dance (with DJ) and ruffle are going together.

Please don't rush to leave the party because it looks bad, not sincere. Take ease and enjoy as much as you can.

I am looking forward to hearing from you about the party details when I come back.

Happy partying!! Please drive safely!!!!!!!!

Love
Mom
