Alternate title: I like, like you.
2nd Alternate title: What is love? (Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me.)
I was asked recently to update my blog, specifically on the topic of love. It's easy to declare love unto objects/people that you are certain will never hurt you. Examples include: figs, friends and Gossip Girl Season 1.What's hard is coming to terms with the loves that eventually lead to disappointment, agony, defeat, and just general physical/emotional sorrow. Examples include: boys with long hair, motorcycles, boys with long hair and motorcycles,
Some say it is the quest for love that makes the sentiment so rewarding. Perhaps this was true in an 18th century novel, when it took a day to walk to a neighbor's house and talking to a boy twice meant you were to be married. But if modern day romantic comedies have taught me anything, it is that love happens after there is some big misunderstanding, followed by a grand declaration of love and finally a beautiful kissing scene where music plays and the camera slowly pans away, cue credits.
Powerful stuff right?
So to summarize: avoid boys with long hair, never try too hard because you just look desperate/power hungry, and eat lots of figs (preferably with friends and while watching Gossip Girl, Season 1).
